Jesper Grandetoft was born in may 1958 in the middle of Sealand Denmark.
From he was fourteen years old, he has been playing with a lot of different musicians and bands in various genres and styles. Today Jesper works aspermanent drummer in sevaral bands as well as freelance.
Jesper was mostly in the beginning of his career inspirered by the heavier rock
such as: Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, but Jimi Hendrix and Doors were too
a part of his musical world.
Later the big source of inspiration became acid - and fusioned rock:
Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Jethro tull, Pink Floyd, Weather report.
In the eigthties followed a more middle of the road period - Police, Simple Minds and U2.
As Jesper turned twelve his parents gave him his first drumkit, and two years later he began playing with a local band, that had the first gig at a school dance .The band was called ”De ufuldendte” (The Unfinished), and they were immdediately ”world famous” in their hometown after this concert. During that time it were bands as Deep Purple and Exseption, which were the hit in the boys room.

From 1975-88 Jesper played with the band "Troldmandens Lærling" (The Wizards Pupil) - an acid rock inspired band, that toured a lot and released two albums. The band recieved Roskilde Festivals Rock Award in 1975 and were often heared on the festivals "Big Scene" and in "the Rock Scene". During the same time (85-86) Jesper joined Russia Heat, which played sekvens based techno rock in the heavy departement. Jesper continued in Singing Zoo from 86-91. It was brit-pop, which not yet had had its break through in Denmark. The band was the first of its kind, released an album and often appeared in danish TV . At the same time (89-90) Jesper played acustic based rock in "Linda", likewise releasing an album. Gilmartin, which Jesper played in from 96-98 released two albums. From year 2000 Jesper has been playing blues-rock in Incidents. The band has released the CD "Slow".
In Jesper Grandetofts spare time, he prefer being with his family. They travel together to experience the rest of the world, as often as it is possible. The recent years the destination has often been USA. But they have been in Russia, China and many of Europes big cities as well. The next big travel project will perhaps be a round trip to Australia.

Vine is another hobby of his. His taste is comprehensive, but the favourites will be the South Rhone, Bourgogne, Venetto and Toscana. Transformed into vine it will be Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gevrey-Chambertin, Amarone and Chianti.

And then there are - classic cars! Mostly british sportscars from the sixties and the seventies amongst others: Jaguar E, Triumph TR4 og 5, MGA and MGB. One will notice too a weekness for Volvo P1800 and Porsche 911.

From the age of twentytwo Jesper Grandetoft have been a drum- and percussion teacher in music schools . This have had a significant influence on Jespers own playing - his technic as well as his theoretic approach has been strengthened by teaching. It has made him a more comprehensive musician - constantly to have to be ahead of his pupils. They are yet another source of inspiration.
